Since 2023, the Cobeo Collaborative Cultures Program has hosted a series of Collaborative Practice Salons, bringing together people from across disciplines, professions and communities to explore the human dimensions of collaboration.
What began as an experiment in creating space for reflection on collaborative practice evolved into a series of gatherings exploring themes including emotions, authority, time, hope, crisis, presence, hospitality, care and play. Along the way, the salons became a place for conversation, connection and shared inquiry across organisational and disciplinary boundaries.
Our new report, Collaborative Practice Salons: Reflections from the First Three Years, looks back on the first nine salons held between 2023 and 2025. It documents the themes, formats and insights that emerged through the series and concludes with a set of design principles for others interested in creating similar spaces in their own contexts.
