The Dynamics of Collaboration learning experience

The Dynamics of Collaboration is a practical, reflective workshop that introduces Cobeo tools and frameworks for navigating the human and relational aspects of collaborative work. Through guided activities and research-backed approaches, participants develop skills and confidence to strengthen their collaborative practice — and to work more thoughtfully across difference and complexity.

Why it matters

Collaboration is essential for tackling complex social, economic, and environmental challenges — but it can also drain resources or reinforce existing problems if not approached carefully. This is particularly true in work involving vulnerable communities.

The Dynamics of Collaboration focuses on the human side of collaborative work: the dynamics, the tensions, and the conditions that make co-creation effective.

What you’ll explore

Across the workshop you will:

  • Identify the dynamics at play in your own collaborative work
  • Understand the common phases and stages that co-creative processes move through
  • Reflect on your practitioner preferences, strengths, and areas for growth
  • Leave with practical frameworks and tools you can apply in your own contexts

Who is this for?

This workshop is for anyone engaged in or curious about collaborative work — whether you’re just starting to explore collaboration or looking to refine an established practice. It’s relevant across sectors and settings: teams, community groups, organisations, and individual practitioners all find value in it.

We welcome mixed cohorts, and the diversity of experience and perspective in the room is part of what makes the learning rich.

Workshop formats

We offer flexible delivery to suit different contexts:

  • Half-day condensed: 4.5 hours
  • Two half-days: split across consecutive or non-consecutive sessions
  • Full day: approximately 6 hours

“I really valued the way the methodology made invisible work visible.”

“It brings permission for those that actively attend to holding space and care work, to be able to speak with greater confidence, clarity and authority to those areas that often very few are highlighting.”

“I left the room more than an hour after the workshop formally finished because the attendees all wanted to chat about their projects and what they had learnt – from the program and each other.”

Stay in touch

We periodically offer The Dynamics of Collaboration as a public workshop, and also deliver it by invitation for organisations and teams.
